Fallen Heroes Table

A solitary table sits just off to the side but in view, set there as a reminder to those who cannot be with us, who have fallen in combat. It has many names throughout the world. In Canada, it's referred to as the Fallen Comrade Table. There are few requirements for the table but those that are there, represent something important.

The Table- small, set for one, symbolizing the frailty of life for each of us.

The White Tablecloth- symbolizing the purity of their intentions to respond to their country's call to arms.

A Single Red Rose in a vase signifies the blood they have shed in sacrifice to ensure the freedom of our country.

The Yellow Ribbon on the vase represents the yellow ribbons worn on the lapels of thousands who demand with unyielding determination a proper accounting of our comrades who are not among us today.

The Place Setting- single, alone, no friends or family to dine with

A Slice of Lemon- reminds us of the bitter fate of those who did not return

The Salt- reminds us of the countless fallen tears of the families

The Glass- is inverted, they cannot toast with us.

The Candle – is reminiscent of the light of hope which lives in our hearts to light the way home to the open arms of a grateful nation.

The Bible- Represents the strength gained through faith to sustain those lost from us.

The Chair- is empty, they are not here.

Lest We Forget

Dave's Table

We've done a table specifically with Dave in mind. This is not the usual setting, as is listed above but something that we felt was more true to Dave and his character. Whilst some things are the same, most are different in subtle ways. It's the little things that make this table uniquely Sir Dave Sopha's.

A square table representing all four corners of the earth that his wings have taken him….

An empty chair is for our missing hero…

A white tablecloth to represent the purity of his soul…

A place setting of Plate, bowl and cutlery, wishing our hero could dine with us this evening

A vase with a single flower, our family who love and keep faith in his soul being free from burden

A purple ribbon is for his memory and the purple is because it was his favourite colour…

A candle is so he will always find a light to guide him in all his endeavours…

A bottle of Portraits of Honour wine because he was classy like that…

An inverted wine glass, to show that he will not be able to participate with us this evening

Glitter represents the tears we have shed since he left, and still shed today

His dew cap representing his image as he wore them with pride

Paintbrushes showing us that he is painting in heaven as per his calling home.
